About

Bio (the short version):

Lynne Matson is the author of the acclaimed Nil series, a thrilling trilogy in which teens trapped on a mysterious island have exactly 365 days to escape, or die. NIL was awarded a VOYA Perfect 10 for 2014 and a starred review, and was selected as a TEEN Vogue hot summer read. Her books have been translated into several languages and are currently nominated for numerous state awards. A former lawyer, Lynne is now a full-time writer. She lives in Florida with her husband and four sons.  Cookies are her kryptonite, especially Thin Mints.

Bio (the long version)...in Lynne's words. This is also where you can find ALL THE  SCOOP in case you need it for a school project:

I grew up in Georgia, drinking lemonade, and later, sweet tea. Now I like to mix the two. (Hello, Arnold Palmer.) Our house was chock full of books. Science fiction novels, mysteries, Dr. Seuss--we had them all; reading was a huge part of our family's life. So was the outdoors. Each fall we'd travel to North Georgia to pick apples and pumpkins and feel leaves crunching under our feet; each summer we'd go the the beach in South Carolina and marvel at the ocean. I still love the mountains and the beach with equal passion.

When college rolled around, in an inexplicable quirk of fate, I defected south to the University of Florida and fell in love with the cutest boy EVER. And then I stayed. Florida's awesome--not counting the mosquitoes and freaky bugs that still weird me out.

Now I still stay up late reading books and writing them. When I don't have a book in my hand, you’ll find me listening to music, going to concerts, going for a run, messing around with paint, or hanging out with my husband and our four boys . . . or all of the above. Possibly at the beach. Or the tennis court, lacrosse field, soccer field, or basketball court….:) My weakness? Cookies, especially Thin Mints.

After college, I went to law school, and yes--you guessed it. I became a lawyer! But now, I write books. I'm a HUGE fan of stories that ask "what if" . . . stories with a twist on everyday life and stories that transport you to another world or future. I'm also a hopeless romantic, so I adore stories with a dash of romance. (Or heaps.) Like most writers, I write the kind of books I like to read.

Let's see...what else would you like to know? I'm a big fan of lists. (Lists make me feel more organized than I really am.) And speaking of lists, here's three...
